My first delightful discovery of 2026 is that the fediverse is a strange and fascinating and kind space. Second delightful discovery is that spinning in a dark living room with the only light source being a neck reading light/book light is a whimsical experience I shall repeat most often this year.
Side note: there is something to be said here, about how a Vietnamese crafter is spinning on Dharawal country in Australia, using a wheel made in Aoteroa NZ, working with a fibre from a German sheep breed that has been dyed by a French artist, and wearing an apron bought by said crafter's husband from a vintage market in the Netherlands.
