@emmadavidson @timhollo I thought there probably was some energetic debate in the Jewish community post-Bondi that the rest of us weren't hearing about.
If we want to defeat racial prejudice in this country then we should never assume that all people of the same ethnicity or religion or culture are the same. Bondi has given us an example in 3 men of the Muslim faith - 2 who thought shooting innocent civilians would make the world a better place, and one who could not bear to see his fellow Australians shot down. I hope we all remember this lesson. And I hope Australian Jews feel safe to disclose their differences so we understand eg that Jillian Segal's view is just one view and doesn't represent all Jewish Australians. Then maybe our governments can make a more nuanced response than they have so far.

Thanks for posting this Emma - Tim's piece is a welcome, calm call for compassion and humanity in a media blitz of division and hatred.
