Question to all the #photo / #Image capture / #Archival crew out there:

Whats the recommended way of getting good digitisations from old photo albums?

I have been given a number of photo albums (some of them quite old) which can't be folded flat in to a scanner (specifically the scanner in a multifunction printer).

I've looked at some "Scanner Pens" and considered hanging the photo album off the side of the scanner while copying - neither of these feels like the right solution.

@kgoetz The Google Photoscan app used to be good, computing away any glare. But now it seems to force some weird frame around each JPEG so there's that
