I am sick and tired of the Christo-centric hot take that Chanukah is somehow the “Jewish Christmas” and an unimportant holiday to Jews. Chanukah is a celebration of Jewish bravery. Of Jewish refusal to succumb to millennia of imperialism and cultural erasure. Of Jewish survival in the face of generation after generation seeking to destroy us.
