I met one Scottish electrical engineer who was making this sort of tech in the late 1980's, but that was before the internet had been invented, so he was working on his own.

If I can find his contact details, I'll forward this to him. :D

@blogamf glad to come across this, I hadn't heard of Afrorack before, will definitely put this into rotation! Reading an interview he gave now, he sounds like my sorta person!
