Europe is betting big on open science and collaboration.

In 2026–2027, Horizon Europe will put €14 billion into research that matters:

🌱 Clean tech for real climate action
🧠 Ethical AI and better healthcare
💡 Support for startups and innovators

Participation is simpler, talent is welcome everywhere.

Science for people. Progress we share.

Here's how: https://link.europa.eu/wVttRj

The handwritten message in blue ink reads: "Great ideas start with great science, and we are determined to support both." The bottom right corner features the logo of the European Commission.

@EUCommission f climate change: EU officials pollute a lot more than average, f ethical AI as that's dead in the water as china will never follow on it and f support for startups and innovators as it's just corruption.
What's needed is an European plan to own vital social and office apps, a plan to ban apps from countries that ban our apps, such as china and a plan to ban ALL chinese products supported by dumping.
Also need a plan for a European AI (made by the private sector)

@EUCommission

Clean tech? You are talking bullshit! Let me think about reverting or extending the transition to emission free cars. You can not put money in clean tech on one hand and on the other revert the most effective way to reduce carbon emissions and frame that as "hey, we're doing something for climate action"! That is bonkers!

@EUCommission Oxymoron of the day: "Ethical AI".

Please do better!

I am an EU supporter in a EEA land full of Eurosceptics.

Please STOP making my life harder by pushing out nonsense such as #chatcontrol #digitalomnibus and #ethicalAI

How can I convince people of my adopted country of the usefulness of the EU when I find myself struggling more and more to convince myself.

@EUCommission I think it's great that you post these things on Mastodon. Often, the comments are a bit... negative. I hope that you can see this for what it is: people making their voices heard, engaging politically, making the distances smaller. People disagreeing and arguing are people who participate in the democratic conversation. That's a good thing, right?

@EUCommission To make that work and open up a bright future using great science, move forward decarbonising industry, in particular traffic and transportation.

Your current actions against transformation concocted by conservatives, and pushed forward with the extreme right parties in the EP, contradicts those efforts. It's basically 'shooting your own leg', or rather the legs of all EU citizens. Pursuing fossil energies won't help us, dammit!

@EUCommission What about European independence and sovereignty over our data and privacy, in stead of surrender ourselves as subjects of American Big Tech?
And just hopping on the bandwagon of the AI hype is not going to help us in anyway. Yes, there was good researcht and development with things like pattern recognition and much more what now is lobbed under the AI umbrella.

Strenghten our privacy policies in stead of selling us out to Big Tech!
And no! Age verification is nog going to >2

@EUCommission check the results, oblige funded projects to deliver concrete results. If a TRL is proposed, it should be met at end of project. Ensure open source is delivered and valorized. Too many projects die the day after they are closed. Thanks

@EUCommission how about #TaxTheRich ? Would solve many problems: the toxic wealthy become less toxic and there is financial support for many vital problems to be solved.
