Utah Leaders Are Hindering Efforts to Develop Solar Despite a Goal to Double the State’s Energy Supply
---

Solar power accounts for two-thirds of the new projects waiting to connect to the state’s power grid. Utah Republicans’ hard turn against solar mirrors President Donald Trump’s hostile approach to the industry.

@ProPublica On one side, the energy industry is facing a supply crisis fueled by the proliferation of AI driven money laundromats across the country. On the other side, we have the "fossil fuel" industry refusing to become a fossil themselves by telling the energy suppliers that using alternative supplies constitutes felony level "contempt of monopoly." facepalm

@ProPublica It's not just follow the money of big oil and coal. It's follow the trail of intimidation from the crazies in D.C. Solar can be great for ranchers. They can still graze animals UNDER the panels. The animals keep the weeds and stuff from growing up in front of the panels and you make power and $ from leasing the land. It's a win-win for ranchers. If they're concerned about looks, plant a low/medium greed hedge around it where people are. There's always an answer but the GOP only attacks and never listens.
