We're hosting our German #OpenDesk and French #LaSuite colleagues at the Dutch Ministry of Interior today to exchange experiences with our #MijnBureau team 馃嚛馃嚜馃嚝馃嚪
This is in preparation of the official European Digital Infrastructure Consortium (EDIC) launch tomorrow in The Hague. 馃嵕
The #EDIC will be a consortium of several EU member states to fund, support and build more #opensource EU alternatives together, like the sovereign workspaces replacing Microsoft.
@Gina as a recovering SharePoint Architect and someone who is building an OpenStack cluster at the moment for personal use on Raspberry PIs, may I ask what is the general view on being able to create functional competition to such platforms as SharePoint?
Don't get me wrong, I also don't like the current situation and I will be keeping an eye on this initiative, it's just I haven't seen any other tool or platform which would also try to support creating enterprise ready Informational Architecture for knowledge management.
At the moment I'm still leaning towards running SharePoint Server as the best alternative.
