Sitting up on a carpeted stairway is Pax, our brown tabby cat with white markings. She is looking back over her shoulder, as if to be nonchalant about heading upstairs. At the top of the stairs lies her nemesis, a black cat named Doodle, who wants to prevent her from entering his territory on the 2nd floor.
