@ProPublica Am I to understand your union wants a prohibition on AI usage in your journalism, and management is refusing to establish that VERY VERY CRITICAL and very very foundational-to-good-journalism standard?

I’ll consider a recurring donation when I see proof you’ve agreed with & enacted that extremely necessary policy decision.

I'm deciding which news sources to donate or re/subscribe to for the coming year. If there is even a whiff of possibility that something I read is AI slop, not only will I not send any money that way, but I won't even read or promote it. If I want slop, there's plenty of it out there already.

As a reader-funded publication, your funding relies on maintaining the trust you have with your readers. If you refuse to guarantee that you will avoid using AI to generate text, images, and video, and if you refuse to guarantee that you will label AI-generated content, how can you expect to maintain reader trust?

@ProPublica I once tried to get you to expose an illegal scheme by Elevance to keep members from getting their ID cards. Now they have rolled out their chatbot that does illegal steerage and basically implements "managed care" without calling it that - you should look into that kinda stuff.....
