@martin suggesting that some of this ilk is not as bad as others is splitting hairs. Seems to me every 'AI' vendor is equally unworthy of any trust, simply by virtue of their eagerness to commit so insanely much capital to something that doesn't stand on its own merits, not to mention the expenditure of political influence in an effort to ensure that 'gov't underwrites (i.e. with the public purse) their hail-mary punt. Totally understand, but on top of the development economics there are some companies that are particularly ruthless and hungry for “global dominance” while painting themselves as being merely helpful.
Even in the AI field, there are plenty more ethical developers out there.
@martin I hope you're right. My impression is that there's an ethical vacuum at least in the US-based 'AI' industry.
