The now.

Update: Door trim cut!
Taking the win and coming back for the baseboards later.
I think we are about ten fidgety saw cuts away from paint.
@RussSharek Mitre box and handsaw. 🥰
We do a fair bit of work with hand tools. I'm a lot safer when I can stop mid cut to rest.
@RussSharek Interesting, as someone who was professionally trained to use power tools without the idiot guards (and have a chronic health issue) my inclination would be "rest is easy" while setting up the cut. Then the cut itself takes nearly no time, and very little human effort. Assuming a power mitre saw. 😇
(now thinking about the effort of working with a handheld circular saw, and I see your "nope" and nod vigorously)
One of the "treasures" I brought home when emptying out my parents house to sell, was my Dad's well-used wooden mitre box. So well-used, it isn't very accurate. 💖 I remember being 2 or 3 years old and he built a partition wall so my sib and I had "separate" bedrooms. Hand saws and one corded power drill. 🏆
I have intermittent brain fog, which makes maintaining reliable focus tricky. On a good day it's not too much of a problem, but I shy away from tools I feel less comfortable with as a result.
I worked in a jewelry and sculpture studio for decades, so rotary tools and hand tools are very old friends.
A literal case of different strokes for different folks! :)
