In mentally skipping directly from Bitcoin to AGI, it is easy to forget that just a few years ago, both Facebook and Apple and to a lesser extent other tech companies, and also a huge amount of Tech Opinion Youtube Guys, were absolutely no holds barred 100% all in totally convinced that The Metaverse was going to be a thing

@halcy I still have no idea how they poured all this money into something that looked so shit, yet at the same time the demoscene took unity, bailing wire snd chewing gum and turned that into sofaworld, which as far as I can tell worked better in every sense
