I wonder why kind of J-Pop I hate the most. Is it obnoxiously (not) "cute" girls bands, or obnoxiously (not) "cool" boys bands. The music of both kinds is inane, and I wonder if I was as obnoxious as my daughter when I was her age and I used to listen to the hits of the day in my living room in front of my annoyed parents.
She'll grow out of it any day now, right? Right?

@DavidBHimself My daughter is into Vocaloid & V-Tubers. So a lot of "virtuality" here. But I was curious and started to listen into some bigger hits. After a while the mighty algorithm recommended more and I found some stuff I really like. There is so much variety in this area, from boring paint-by-numbers pop to glitchy IDM and everything inbetween. The result is that my "Recap" playlist for this year starts with 90% Vocaloid stuff 😄
Also, do I have less respects for bands who don't even pretend to play music, they only "sing" and dance (but mostly dance) on prerecorded bad music, or for band who pretend to play music, but they're so bad at pretending that it hurts my eye. (shout out to the guy yesterday who pretended to play a guitar solo while the music was violins).
