If #Russia 馃嚪馃嚭 is preparing for a war with #NATO by 2029, then the #EuropeanUnion 馃嚜馃嚭 needs to initiate a plan to mobilize their military now.

馃憠馃従 #Putin from Moscow: If #Europe wants to start a war, we are ready now https://www.euronews.com/2025/12/02/if-europe-wants-to-start-a-war-we-are-ready-now-russias-putin-says

I doubt Putin would attempt a conflict with NATO under any circumstance except for one鈥攖he #UnitedStates 馃嚭馃嚫 exits NATO.

Russian forces are struggling handling Ukraine 馃嚭馃嚘 right now, & it would be foolish for them to face the full force of NATO militaries.

@darnell

Serious question: Does it?

While I certainly want Europe to be ready, the war in Ukraine has shown that Russia's military might is perhaps exaggerate. It has deep knowledge of Ukraine, as well as proximity, and yet it's struggled to win what many thought would be an easy conquest.

What hope does Russia have if it provokes NATO, even without the US? I'd argue that such an action would immediately activate the common interests of NATO and result in a military conflict that Russia is nowhere ready for.

The real danger here isn't Russia, but Russia's tenuous allies of China and Iran acting under the cover of such a conflict.
