The largest US real estate listing site has removed on-page climate risk data after industry complaints it was affecting sales.

But burying climate risk information will not change the danger that increasingly frequent and intense disasters pose for millions of people.

@greenpeace

The climate collapse is years away?

But today it looks like insurance and forests are something from the "before times" already?

Exxon is doing this, with at best not courageous politicians. At best.

Your Insurance is going. Canada burned forest rh3e size of Poland in less than 3 years. Still.

These warnings are shouts, crowds shouting at us. !

And this is part of a bigger problem. As climate impacts intensify, insurance systems are failing.

Premiums rise, coverage shrinks and communities lose protection.

The answer is not opacity and higher costs for families. Polluters must pay for the damage.

Insurance is no longer working; why should Big Oil pay?
Ian Duff

Extreme weather events have a hefty price tag. In 2024, they have already cost the world over USD 41 billion in damages according to a recent report. Last year, it was USD 301 billion for weather and climate events. By 2050, climate change could cause an additional 14.5 million deaths and USD 12.5 trillion in losses worldwide.

A key question is: Who pays for all of this? In some cases, governments are stepping in to fill the void, yet this approach puts undue burden on public finances and on taxpayers. At the same time perpetrators of this crisis – the fossil fuel majors responsible for climate chaos because of their polluting business – are left unscathed. This is neither sustainable nor fair.
