wrote for Mainstream on how UK Labour gov't is falling behind on combating far-right & state propaganda by relying constantly on Xitter/Meta platforms – even though some figures within call for diverging from them – and why it's imperative to offer an alternative on a gov't level, as well as grassroots level

(while target audience for this post is people outside of Fedi, I think it's fair to demand similar things from other gov'ts)

At the bottom right, with a cursor text, it says "Mainstream" (name of Labour faction)

and for more detailed walkthrough, few weeks ago Open Rights Group released a report on social media platforms, how the interoperability - foundation of decentralised platforms - been already present with us (via open banking as an example), and the opportunities it can present for the public to resist far-right propaganda

@DM_Ronin We said a lot of similar things in our report a week or two ago https://www.openrightsgroup.org/publications/making-platforms-accountable-empowering-users-and-creating-safety/

@jim yes, I saw it and started reading since it was released. I assure you though my draft to Mainstream was submitted few weeks ago, so I didn't copy anything from yours 😁 also I wanted my article to be not just a call to Labour gov't, but party as well.

congrats btw with your report's release, it's very thorough and detailed! ✊
