Street Style
As one of the most popular genres, street photography comes in many different styles or sub-genres, so I thought it would be interesting to look at my own preferred techniques for capturing life on the streets.
I'll begin this short series with what I will call Street: Shadows and Light.

In a shot taken from a high angle, five people are cast into silhouette by the bright sunlight behind them as they walk in formation along a broad city street, the shadows of the two people in front and the three behind reveal that the sun is low and it is late in the afternoon.
A woman wearing sunglasses walks along a city street, her face is caught in the light while the rest of her body is in shadow. On the wall of the stone building she is walking past are the shadows of the trees which line the street.
A person is captured in silhouette against a large, oval-shaped and ornately-patterned window which is letting in just enough light to reveal a series of four lamps hanging from the ceiling, and causing the ancient, polished stone floor tiles to glow and reveal the person's blurred shadow.
The face of a man wearing a cap is caught in a tiny shaft of light as he emerges from a building which is in dark shadows, apart from a short flight of stone steps which are caught in a wider, angled beam of bright sunlight falling on a diagonal toward the man.
