I'm reflecting on my work, as I often do on #WorldAIDSday.

I don't think I've had one of my patients with HIV die in the last 12 months, even of unrelated causes, and just how lucky we are to live in a time when there is effective treatment and prevention.

So many people around the world lack access to treatment, and this year it's going to be the first backwards step in a good number of years.

But most of all, thinking of those who have lost partners, lovers, friends and family - especially in the old days when it was a regular occurrence.
