Nice to see the built-in translation feature is getting used regularly. We are still able to stay in the free plan of the Deepl API. This gives us 500.000 characters per month to translate.

@bergmeister It's been really handy to have here.
When browsing my accounts on other servers, I often have that moment where I look for the "translate" link on a non-English post, and have a moment of "oh yeah, I'm not on mountains.social any more" realization, and then I'm sad! (And especially over on that blue sky place...)
Sure, I could copy-and-paste to Google Translate, or similar, but I rarely bother.

@bergmeister I have enjoyed being able to follow people who post in languages I don’t speak (German, mostly), and hope it continues to encourage people to post in languages in which they are comfortable. Deep neural nets for good!
