After a few days (weeks?) of using Linux again, I’m happy to report that some of my fears turned out to be outdated.

On my T470, suspend works perfectly, and the battery life is more than decent!

My main problem is that the screen has a crappy resolution, that I apparently can’t hardware-upgrade.

But looking at laptops on the market, none seem to have a screen that makes @cassidy’s dippi happy

@thibaultamartin @cassidy I have a 2024 Lenovo Yoga 9i 2-in-1, can't praise it enough.

Dippi's unhappiness can be ignored these days, because of fractional scaling. You can have normal UI size for any display resolution / physical size combo.

@thibaultamartin Huh, yeah it says so for my 14" screen w/ 2880 x 1800 too. I'm quite happy with it. Though I thought it used 2 x scale. niri says 1.75. I wonder if it was the same w/ sway, I don't remember configuring it.

@thibaultamartin @cassidy

Since I also have the T470 , I can confirm that even the fingerprint reader works perfectly with #linux #mint , although you need to do some setup manually.

For coding, typical office work and casual movie watching, the display is ok for me.
