I just configured @thunderbird on my Linux laptop to connect to my family iCloud calendar, and it seems to work pretty well!
The setup was a bit involved though. Any chance this might be solved by the new Account Hub in the future?

@thibaultamartin Sorry about that! Our morning coffee must have worn off. Just wanted to say that yes, the Account Hub experience for calendars will make this much less tedious! We'll keep everyone posted on the blog and here on its development.
