@rolle how do you identify a pro in a crisis? He starts by grabbing a coffee.
Did a lot of panicking and running around with elevated heart rate every time even small crises raised their heads when I was younger. Because uptime. Becoming a parent helped a lot in being able to have perspective on things.
@harald Thanks, I guess! I'm a pretty chill guy. I work on very business-critical web services and servers, but I always remind myself that nobody's dying. Uptime isn't everything.
It gets easier every time. Even when I can do something about it, I try to stay calm.
@ikkeT @rolle @harald
There seems to be this strange mentality that everyone should run around panicked when something is down instead of calmly seeing what's going on and fixing it (if possible).
I remember some catastrophic failures in earlier workplace, where people were running around and I was trying to analyze the issue and was like "yea, I know, but panicking won't fix anything"
@rolle as the germans would say: "genießen Sie es".
