Welcome @robinince to the Fediverse 👋
While traveling and on long walks I have immense pleasure listening through #TheInfiniteMonkeyCage episodes.
Got to 23 Jan 2017 Science's Epic Fails one, and have 133 glorious unlisted ones still to enjoy.
Keep'em coming thank you 🐒
@FediFollows @robinince The same Robin Ince who accompanied Brian Cox the physicist on stage in Wellington recently? Welcome, sir!
@FediFollows @robinince Was introduced to Mr. Ince by The Infinite Monkey Cage podcast, and have been a fan since. Instant follow, and looking forward to his posts.

I tried to follow him, but the Follow button just sort of blinked at me each time. Is this a Mastodon.Social thing? I'm using Ice Cubes as my software.
Nice to see more #EdFringe folks here.
p.s. Thank you to @RyanE for telling me about Ince being on here! 🙏
@FediFollows @robinince 👋 Robin Welcome.
@FediFollows @robinince hey Robin, good to see you! 👋👋👋
@FediFollows @robinince He is funny. Follow him, make him feel welcome!
@FediFollows @robinince Oof he joined the big one, when we should be choosing smaller instances instead of feeding the monopoly of mastodon.social, and if Robin is keeping up with these threads, for context I'm talking about a thread from @FediTips about how the fact most people joining the flagship instance is creating a situation where its kinda defeating the object of the fediverse, which is that it is a decentralised network.
Let's not overwhelm him with details, he's only just joined 🙂
The people to criticise about mastodon.social are Mastodon gGmbH for promoting it so heavily, not the new people who think they're supposed to sign up there.
@FediTips Good point, the folks developing the official apps should stop using them to constantly promote mastodon.social, eventually I wanna make a mobile version of this Mastodon client/social messenger/put some things in one app kinda thing, and I would make sure that its not just promoting one server, but a rotating selection.
