Dang, I passed by the #Øyafestivalen site on the way home today and it made me realise that 'festival season' is quickly approaching in #Oslo. 👯

From pop #music to #jazz, from #arts and #film festivals to stand-up #comedy -- there are so many #festivals happening throughout August that I tried to list a few on the @HvaSkjer account.

Great moments from season 3 of Ted Lasso (s03e11);

Jamie Tartt: "I feel like the guy in the Red Bull commercial who's pushing that big rock up the hill, but he's lost his wings. Roy, I feel like ... I feel like I've lost me wings, Roy. Where the fuck are ma wings Roy?!" (bursts into tears)

Roy Kent: "Fuuuuuuucccck."

Pure pathos. Simultaneously totally relatable and utterly hilarious.

I was recently discussing about comedy and humor with my American friend. I find it hard to laugh at typical "intelligent" stand-up comedy. Everyday or political stories rarely make me laugh.

Instead, I crack up at stupid, mindless, childish, unconventional, absurd, twisted, and dark stuff. Finnish Studio Julmahuvi (“Studio Cruelty”), Leslie Nielsen, Uuno Turhapuro (a classic Finnish comedy character and antihero), and silly memes all get me laughing. It's even funnier when other people don’t get it. 🤣

I prefer old-fashioned hijinks like Pat & Mat, Buster Keaton, and Charlie Chaplin over the typical "when I went to a restaurant" type of jokes. I'm difficult and picky that way when it comes to humor.

Because I use my brainpower and intelligence in everyday programming, I like my comedy to be as low-level and simple as possible - when I laugh, I want to be an ameba.

So, for someone who likes stand-up comedians like Jim Jefferies, Jim Carrey, Seth Rogen, and Ismo Leikola, what would you recommend?

There's a track that starts with a posh-sounding gentlemen trying to interview passers-by about shirts. It's not surprising that these folks shared personnel with Monty Python, in the form of Neil Innes.
