Remember: the only reason that makes sense why #ICE would deny clergy access to the #Broadview detention facility to minister to the detainees is because they believe the substantial bad press and messaging damage from publicly denying clergy access is less bad than the damage that would result from the clergy seeing inside the facility and telling people what they saw.

@cstross @otfrom Perhaps I am being naive, but I don't think the people at the level to be making decisions about whether to give clergy access to the facility are just in it for the cruelty and free to ignore the political ramifications of their actions. I think it's their job to consider the political ramifications, and I think they've concluded it will hurt the administration worse to keep the clergy out than to let them in.
