Short time lapse from last night. Missed much of the big display. Most of the activity was south of us when I went out there. Short because I wasn't prepared with batteries etc. #Nunavut #AuroraBorealis #NorthernLights #Aurora #TimeLapse

The northern Lights dance across the sky above a frozen lake and fjord. Green and red aurora. A field of stars move from left to right.

So nice 👍
The video is 9 seconds long, how long is the real time of exposure?

@alfonsoml It’s only 235 frames. I’d have to look later to see total time. 8 second exposures.

☝️When you are so far north, last night's aurora was SOUTH of you. 🤓

@puzzled When I first arrived here we rarely saw even small displays. We were in the hole of the Aurora doughnut. But as the north magnetic pole took off towards Russia it pulled the doughnut with it, so now we are on the edge of the hole

@NunavutBirder This is my preferred auroral display intensity (which until this year I didn't know I had. Such a good aurora year.). Amazing, so pretty, and all the stars!

@NunavutBirder It still looks lovely.

We had a storm last night with rain and high winds in our bit of Norway. Maybe we will get enough of a break in the cloud cover tonight to be able to see the "nordlys" for ourselves.

If not, then we can enjoy all of the photos that other people post tomorrow.

@NunavutBirder utterly beautiful. It amazes me that such a violent event (albeit on an atomic scale) generates gorgeous sights like these.
