Incoming geomagnetic storms:
Effects from the X flares on 9 & 10 Nov should arrive at Earth at around 20h UT this evening (11 Nov), according to Nasa's WSA-ENLIL Solar Wind Prediction model.
This morning's X5.2 flare is racing towards us at around 1,800km/s and should arrive around midday (UT) on 12 Nov. It's fast velocity means that it will begin to interact with the preceding CMEs as it reaches Earth, causing a likely very chaotic Geomagnetic storm.
NOAA predicts upto to G4 conditions on 12 Nov. As long as the magnetic Bz component of the storms is southwards, very strong aurora is possible.
