@konstantin what do you mean by uv circus?
In terms of spaced repetition algorithm, anki is probably the best
@konstantin I’m using Mochi, so much more elegant!
@mschwinges I will give it a go, thank you!
@konstantin By now youve seen how full featured and good looking Mochi is, supporting Markdown etc - but I also liked StudyPod, also worth trying out.
@mschwinges Yesss omg, it's so cool. Do you know who makes it? Is it an indie app?
@konstantin I don’t know who is behind Mochi but StudyPod is a small team of two based in London afik. I settled on Mochi and really like it - has some features like internal links between cards that I like and use
@konstantin I was annoyed at first with the whole "launcher" but kinda got used to it / ignore it. The fixed the issue where the terminal (default one at that) would open so its basically transparent at this point :)
@wojtek no but if I download a .dmg, I expect it to be the binary... and not a script that creates a venv, downloads and builds Qt and what no 🤪. I need a way to study words without suddenly being triggered into debugging random apps :D
@konstantin ok, but how often do you "download dmg"?
Tbh I think I haven't downloaded it even once… `brew install anki` :D
@wojtek euh, always, when possible ☺️
@konstantin erm… so on each release you manually downloaded new dmg and installed it that way? 🤯
@wojtek More like, install it once whenever I reinstall my Mac and not touch it unless asked to install an update 😁 ... so if it doesn't have an auto-updater, it's the version I installed that one time ^_^
I like homebrew to bring in some devtools that aren't otherwise available on macOS, but because of xcode and other dependencies, I only ever update 🍺 when there is a new Swift or iOS SDK. Updates = side quests = sad moments :D
