@stefan Went there as a 17 year old. The museum was heartbreaking as was the contrast between east and west. We had to travel by train to east Germany to get to Berlin and it was like going back in time 40 years. At the wall, there was a palpable feeling of pain I’ve never felt anywhere before or since.
Was a junior in college when the Berlin Wall fell.
Absolutely amazing... the most amazing thing was the overall minimum of violence with the fall of the Eastern Bloc and the Soviet Union. It could have been so much worse.
@stefan Ah, shit. On the wrong side of history again. Since 2001 I've been trying to collect enough people together to REBUILD the walll. It's difficult. I will continue. Since the wall came down, the architecture has become unbearable. The falling facades had more charm :)
