@Em0nM4stodon Yes, I'm proud to say that my Mac app Notenik has no AI features, and I have zero plans to add any.
It will be the new βwe never use palm oilβ
@Em0nM4stodon It can solve a few specific problems that have no other way of being solved. But in the recent past I had the opposite of "everything is a nail" hammer moment, many times, thinking about a possible AI solution to a problem I had, then realizing a way of doing it without AI. If only people weren't so obsessed with their fancy hammer, they wouldn't be trying to screw screws with it.
You may be wondering why did I even _consider_ using AI for any problem at all. Well, not long ago I discovered the world of small open source, open weights models to run in my machine. Those are fine in my book, while I completely avoid things like chatgpt.

But Google (or any other big tech) will steal your work, your ideas,... (See previous toot )
@Em0nM4stodon I'm still using 70+ apps in my device without using AI ππ..... #nofuckinAI

@Em0nM4stodon OK now I think I'm gonna make myself a badge that says "Natural Intelligence, guaranteed AI-free" to wear to work
@detours_anachroniques @Em0nM4stodon Made myself this with a quick image edit for my slack profile picture. Sorry I don't have a larger version but its on my work computer and I'm not turning that on during the weekend lol
@metalplates @Em0nM4stodon Thanks for the inspo! So you got me working on mine tonight π€£
I'm not sure about the three words you're using, although funnily enough "preservative" in French is the same word as "conservative" (conservateur), and I wouldn't mind telling people there's nothing conservative about me.
But I'd like to keep it simple since I want to make an actual badge to wear and be readable on my actual body.
What do you people think of it ?
@metalplates @Em0nM4stodon
New versions in English and French
@Em0nM4stodon i should mention that it wont be me ahead of the curve, it's AI people who will be behind me

Hear, hear!
The errors, unfacts & hallucinations of AI are stark.
Iβve had it cite an East Sussex town - Hailsham - as 37 miles southeast of Brighton AND 35-40 miles east of Brighton, both of which are in the English Channel.
