Instagram Post from Feminist Voices Zimbabwe: "At around 12:30pm on Saturday, 1 November 2025, the venue for our planned Pride Fair was raided by law enforcement. The event was halted before it could begin. Twenty-four members of our community including Feminist Voices team members, volunteers, and vendors were taken into police custody. We share this with deep sadness and concern. For many months, our community worked with care and anticipation to create a space for joy, reflection, and belonging. We know how much was invested emotionally, financially, and in spirit and we are truly sorry for the disruption and distress this caused. As a small and close community, we take this incident and the resulting data breach extremely seriously. Alongside our partners we are providing support to everyone affected and reviewing safety processes within intention and care - reassessing everyone on our database, redeveloping our security protocol and keeping those impacted close. This moment has not changed who we are or what we stand for.
