Fun fact: #Halloween in the north of England used to be known as nut-crack night.
People would mark nuts with the names of lovers and place them around a fire.
Nuts that sizzled, spat or jumped indicated romantic incompatibility. nuts that burned together suggested peaceful, happy partnerships.
(Ed: I feel a quip about cracked #nuts coming on🤣)
