@jesuisatire

Día de los Muertos is a celebration for all who have passed and are still held in memory.

November 2nd is día de los Muertos in Mexican culture, but we're pretty sure you can celebrate the life of those who have passed any day you wish!

Quizas:
"If today you're honouring those passed away, .." hubiera sido la forma inglesa NATO, mientras que "those passed today" era la version OTAN.
🤔

We spent time researching the best way to convey meaning on this cultural holiday and came to the understadning that is a celebration of rememberance, life, and those passed. Apologies if we got it wrong.

Like you said, it could be that meaning reads diiferently in different languages and cultures!

Either way, thank you for taking the time to discuss this with us.

Not saying at all that you got that wrong.

I haven't looked it up but I supposed that "día de los Muertos" is a general spanisch\latin american "holyday". In any case I'm used to "Totensonntag" thats the german version and actually a sunday, so apparently it's some kind of "first sunday off or after".
Ohh, wait, yesterday was sunday so this is most likely some catholic "holy day".

In other words "día de los Muertos" is only in Mexico a kind of happy happening. For the rest of spanisch speaking world it's the standard rememberance day, the common:
"Go to the cementary, be sad and leave some flowers".

A situations you basicaly can face in englisch and spanisch, french to a lesser extent, as those languages address countries all over the world.

Like to say:

"Feliz día de los Muertos por si eres mexicano!

For the rest of you out there, if this sunday you're honouring those passed away already, we hope you have a joyful celebration and dedicate this day to learn to apropiate for yourself the cultural mexican achivemnet to first of all celebrate the existence of life itself, and all the beautiful events those who already passed granted you to experience while their shared their time with you.

.. or something like that ..
:)
