Today is the first time that I've read a term paper that cites a host of fake references (six out of ten)... Such a shame because it was actually a very interesting topic, which I know that the student is genuinely passionate about... Anyway, I now urgently need to find something to cheer me so I don't end my Saturday in a bad mood. Any suggestions?

@ElenLeFoll sorry there is nothing that I can say to cheer you up, it's been already a few term papers like this for me and I decided that this year was the last year that I accepted to supervise any such work. I just discovered Elicit this week : with this, students can now produce a term paper very quickly with little work, without even fake references betraying. I'm giving up on term papers, they are obsolete.

@nadege All of my term papers involve some hands-on project work, but I am required to get students to write these projects up in the form of term papers as per the course requirements. This particular student has done all the project work (actually really quite well), but the writing around it is (at least largely) AI-generated... 馃槖
