I mean, you could always go back to school and learn the languages your neighbours speak, if it bothers you so much?

@rachel I wouldn't want JD Vance as a neighbor no matter what language he spoke.
It's extremely difficult for adults to learn a new language. Their kids and grandkids will find it much easier.
People like Vance are deliberately wallowing in the immorality of bigotry and xenophobia. It's pointless to argue that people don't agree with that statement. The world has a lot of people who think murder and rape and pedophilia are fine, too.
@rachel So could your neighbors? It goes both ways
@bruvduroiu chances are, they already do speak your language.
@rachel good, so there’s no issue.
@bruvduroiu a person is complaining that they don’t understand their neighbours. The answer is to learn the language If there’s no issue with that, why did you feel the need to comment?
@rachel If you emigrate somewhere, you should learn the language, out of courtesy for the nation that hosts you.
I'm an immigrant, both previously to the UK, and now in Taiwan. I've learned the language of all countries I've been granted right to remain.
It would be ridiculous to come to Taiwan and get pissy that people here don't speak English. It would be 100% justified if Taiwanese would get pissed at me for not speaking Chinese.
@bruvduroiu the immigrants are not “getting pissy”, JD Vance is. Simply because he doesn’t speak the language of his neighbour, who probably also speaks English (simplified)
