I’ve been teaching myself how to spin the cotton into yarn with a pencil by watching YouTube videos. It’s very slow-going because I barely know what I’m doing, but feels good to see myself make a little bit of progress with each attempt. Also a spindle would definitely make things go faster but I can’t decide whether to buy a wooden one or attempt to make one out of clay. #handmade #spinning #fiberarts #crafts #beginner @gardening

In the foreground, a wooden pencil with yarn wrapped around it. The yarn is spun from natural native Florida cotton and is off-white. In the middle ground, a blue and gray ceramic basket filled with fluffy cotton. In the background a gray quilt with my legs underneath as a spin yarn in bed.
