I have started watching Star Trek The Next Generation. So far (season 1) I find the show incredibly well written, inspiring, wholesome. Just what I needed.
Especially since I've been writing some sci-fi myself for a game I am working on.
Watching the show could be seen as researching the genre ;)
I find the optimistic view of humanity and the spirit of the Enterprise's crew... uplifting. And the ideas for many episodes could be extended into longer pieces. I am really impressed.
