@Gina is your Vitamin D level good? The weather will still suck, but it may be less annoying with some Vit D. I need to start taking mine... One more pill for the day...

@Gina
Nice raincoat/jacket!
@Gina @geospacedman Nooo, not true: most rain is falling on the ground next to you, not ON you. So... weather is fine in NL :-)
@Gina Looking forward to it
And see - Dutch weather is just something to accept as an achievement unlocked!
@Gina Just seeing governments trying is giving me hope. Those efforts get so often just suffocated by proprietary lobbying.
@Gina to quote Jack Sparrow, The problem is not the problem; your attitude towards the problem is the problem. 😉 #stoicwisdom
@Gina Complaining about the weather? Are you English? Interestingly, the Netherlands (or is it just Amsterdam?) is always shown as a car-free bike-driven transport paradise we should aspire to over this side of the Channel, but never when its pouring down...
@geospacedman it rains a solid 8 months of the year, WHY DID WE CHOOSE BIKES as our main mode of transportation 😂
@Gina Poor you. The weather is indeed mostly bad in NL in general, I feel for you :(
I'm not even joking when I say that I'm willing to extend €2000 at minimum for anyone who can get me a visa sponsored job in Australia, or a half-decent paying job in southern Europe, or a remote job anywhere.
Again I LOVE my job here, and I'm so good at it, but I can't with this country 🥲
@Gina I moved from Seattle to Phoenix for the same reason - unending daily rain. Now I love rain - the 6 times a year it actually happens…
@Gina I happen to be hiring in Frankfurt. Better weather here, if of course south of the alps would be a bigger improvement. https://mycareer.infrontfinance.com/job/job-software-engineer-m-f-d-_732.aspx
@Gina Do you know https://www.fossjobs.net? They also have a Mastoson bot @fossjobs. I know there are others too, but that's the only one I have at hand right now.
@Gina outside the Randstad there is plenty of "this country" too
@egonw it rains there too 🥲
@Gina ah, is that the only reason to move to another country... to be honest, partly bc I have some flexibility in my office hours, I can count the number of rain days per year on two hands (i.e.: maybe the Randstad actually has more rain)

@Gina Would a job do that's 100% remote? Or do you prefer at least a partial on-site experience? In my company I try to employ people independent from their place of living.
@sunweaver depends on the location. I'd love to be 100% remote, but I'm also willing to come to the office if it's anywhere sunny.
@Gina We are located in Nothern Germany near #Eckernförde, so weather-wise not an improvement compared to #TheHague. But dependent on or place of living hiring for 100% remote is possible, too. Feel free to send a CV or similar.
