GenAI becomes widely available, and widely used, from 30 November 2022.

It's now almost 3 years later, and a judical system has finally put in place an intrim policy to cover the use of GenAI.

I find it impossible to see this response time as adequate. And see the years of absence of any explicit genAI policy as evidence of a judicial system that is unable to adapt in a timely manner.

The creation of laws to regulate technology always lags behind the creation of technology itself.

This mis-match is normal.

I'll point out that these are not laws.

And that the authority involved had obligations to ensure the proper functioning of the system.

Letting disruptive technology, that (presumably) had fake cases and judgements being cited in court documents, be freely experimented with does not appear to fulfill those obligations.

The judicial system is traditionally conservative of process. In this case it was not.

The adoption of a Policy position, usually means, "Our Professional Indemnity Insurance now covers this..." 🤣
