US threatened to impose sanctions, visa restrictions & port levies on those supporting…the 1st global carbon-pricing system.

Saudi Arabia also called for vote to be postponed. Argentina, which in April abstained from the vote, now opposes the deal.

Leading up to Friday's decision, China, EU, Brazil, Britain & several other members reaffirmed…support.
