The James Webb Appears to Have Spotted a "Dark Star" Powered by Dark Matter

“Supermassive dark stars are extremely bright, giant, yet puffy clouds made primarily out of hydrogen and helium, which are supported against gravitational collapse by the minute amounts of self-annihilating dark matter inside them,”

@jbz

Two sentences from the article:

"Dark matter is the invisible, hypothetical substance..."

"... '.., which are supported against gravitational collapse by the minute amounts of self-annihilating dark matter inside them,' "

So the substance is hypothetical, but we know it
a) is self-annihilating in a way such that
b) it pushes against gravitation.

Does not sound like serious science.
