@nora If not for the set up and material costs likely having jumped just as much, I'd wonder if it might have gotten cheaper to make your own.

(Second-hand sewing machines and overlockers are probably still pretty cost-effective, but fabric and notions would be a killer since as far as I know it'll all be getting manufactured outside of the US. And not a lot of options for thrifting knit fabrics - maybe even less now with how popular thrift stores must be getting.)
