Anybody have a recommendation for their favorite model of Chromebook to install Linux on?

I'm looking to acquire either a used Cromebook to have for a light "carryin' around" machine.

Do you mean a Chromebook that can run the Linux emulator for good ?

Or a Chromebook you can like overwrite with Linux ?

Better go with a normal notebook.

For the cheap ones where its possible, there is risk that some hardware is not or only badly supported by normal Linux.

For the better/good ones, it can be impossible to set the firmware-chip to read-write.

In all cases, you have also a chance to get a bricked unit for result.
