I ran into one of my favorite SFF authors in Florence recently and was torn between leaving them be and saying hi. Thankfully, saying hi was the right choice. SFF fandom leans that way.
Minor fame is an interesting asymmetric thing -- People who I've "known" through art, internets, and generally at arms length don't know me from an internet rando. I don't want to be that guy, but the couple times I've randomly run into someone have been really awesome.
