The land of the sausage salad is discussing if it is allowed to still call a vegetarian sausage 'sausage'. That's all you need to know, how far we've come in our political discussions over here. Germany is a fucking embarrassment of a country.

@bastianallgeier I question why Leberkäse can be called like this – it's no cheese! I'm confused!
@bastianallgeier … well I would be quite happy if this was what was “the political discussion” over here…😹… because not only is it severely embarrassing here in the us, it’s becoming increasingly dangerous 😬
Basically what I’m saying is, I would like to complain about “normal” (and somewhat trivial ) problems than what’s happening now 😿
@bastianallgeier Put it this way, you don’t have to discuss if Canned cheese or chlorinated chicken in a can is you know …cheese or chicken
@bastianallgeier I was frustrated too, but then realised: if the meat industry has to lobby this hard against it, they clearly see it as a threat 🤷♂️
UPDATE: It's a EU thing this time. I missed that. But we really love to discuss this shit over here. Had the same with oat milk. I feel like we are really at the core of it. Still super embarrassing.
@bastianallgeier To be fair, the discussion happened on the EU level. Doesn’t make it better sadly
@javahippie Oh, I didn't realize that. I've only seen a Merz quote and something about burgers and thought that this can't be happening yet again after the Hafermilch bullshit.
@bastianallgeier You have to see it to believe it 🤪😂
