the other day I saw some folks asking who saw fit to change the Disability Pride flag, and why it was done.

the answer? none other than its original creator, Ann Magill!

"Early in July, 2021 it came to my attention that, even with desaturated colors, The zigzag design can, when viewed online (especially while scrolling), create a strobe effect, and pose a risk for people with epilepsy, and migraine sufferers."

"Although the earlier version of the flag, with the zigzag motif, still exists, and is still in the public domain (and is therefore free for anyone to use and/or adapt), I believe it is better for communication and awareness that we focus on one version of the flag."

The updated Disability Pride flag. It consists of a diagonal stripe of five colours, from top-left to bottom-right. From top to bottom the colours are green, blue, white, yellow, and red, over a grey field. All of the colours are mildly de-saturated.
