I have a new standard (/boundary) for communication with friends:

If they want to brag about the covid precautions they are taking, I am the friend to tell! I want to hear all about your new masks, air purifiers, jabs &, the things you're doing well.

If they want to talk about taking unnecessary covid risks, I can't hear it. It makes my heart hurt. Just don't tell me about it.

It's a great pass/fail test.

(The fact that most people fail it explains my isolation.) 1/2

I've been on the internet for more than five minutes, so I'm aware that the odds are high that some rando is going to challenge me to define what constitutes "unnecessary covid risk".

To which my answer is: No.

We are well into the sixth year of the pandemic. If you don't know what constitutes unnecessary covid risk, it is not my job to educate you. However, I encourage you to educate yourself, because at present you are literally a danger to yourself and others. 2/2
