Today I’m going to talk about olives!

Olive trees hold a very special significance to the life of Palestinians. The olive harvest season starting in October is usually a festive season. Did you know that since 1967, settlers have destroyed, burned or uprooted at least 800,000 olive trees?
You can sometimes see Palestinians going back and planting the trees again once the settlers are gone, resistance through farming 😅
Yesterday I was busy picking olives from a tree. My family is currently renting land from a family of Bedouin in the middle of the south of the Gaza Strip. We pitched our tent there. I picked olives with the landlord, and he gave me some olives for my family. This is very generous of him.
