The first Bad Bunny song that I remember went super popular locally (can’t say viral because we were all without electricity for months after Hurricane María in 2017) was Estamos Bien.

That song became the standard reply to the “how are you?” greeting. Even with people who hate trap.

Nope!

2018 was bad. Some were able to build back up quickly. But most didn’t.

Jobs were lost. Houses were destroyed. Some got lucky with the blue FEMA tarp roofs. And some just got tired, packed up whatever little they had and left.

That’s why that song went popular. It was embraced as the de facto “I’m OK. I’m hanging in there as best as I can.”
